![]() Placed in a modern context and using references that the girls were familiar with, the performance was very beneficial and helped the girls better understand the story of two young Italian star-crossed lovers whose deaths ultimately reconcile their feuding families. Three very talented Ugly Shakespeare Company performers, Francesca Browne, Caitlin Stevenson and Isabella Kerridge visited the Girls’ School to retell the story of Romeo and Juliet in a more demystified, modern way. They explored the language, the plot, and key scenes before watching it unfold in real life. ![]() In English, the Year 7 and 8 students studied the famous play, Romeo and Juliet.
